Federal annual return filing in Markham

Markham is home to roughly 13,740 active federal corporations. If yours is one of them, you owe Corporations Canada an annual return every year — and missing it can get your corporation dissolved. Check your status below; if you're overdue, we file it for you the same business day. You share your Corporation Key; we handle the rest.

Type at least 2 characters.

Results are based on Canada's public federal corporations registry and may lag the official record. Always confirm in your Corporations Canada Online Filing Centre. Compliance Calendar is an independent filing service — not Corporations Canada or any government agency.

Federal annual return — the basics

Who has to file a federal annual return?

Every corporation incorporated under the Canada Business Corporations Act (CBCA) must file an annual return with Corporations Canada each year — whether or not it did any business, made money, or has changed since last year. It is separate from your tax return: filing taxes with the CRA does not file your annual return.

When is it due?

The annual return is due within 60 days of your corporation’s anniversary date — the date it was incorporated, amalgamated, or continued federally. The deadline is the same date every year, so once you know your anniversary you know your deadline.

What happens if I miss it?

A corporation that fails to file can be dissolved by Corporations Canada — it loses its legal existence, and with it the right to operate, hold assets, or sue under that name. Reinstating a dissolved corporation is far more costly and slow than filing on time. Use the checker above to see where you stand.

What does it cost?

Our flat service fee is $399 CAD. The government filing fee is small and is always shown to you separately, before you pay — never marked up. Full refund if we can’t file.

What is a Corporation Key and where do I get it?

The Corporation Key is a 9-character code Corporations Canada uses to authorize online changes to your corporation. It is on the documents Corporations Canada emailed when you incorporated, or you can request a free replacement from Corporations Canada — it is mailed to your registered office, so allow a few days. You share it with us; you never have to log in yourself.

Are you Corporations Canada?

No. Compliance Calendar is an independent filing service. We are not Corporations Canada, not a government agency, and not a law firm. We prepare and submit your filing on your behalf using credentials you provide.
